India Alliance Maha Rally: A senior leader of Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) said on Sunday that if party president Lalu Prasad’s health remains fine, he will participate in the mega rally of opposition alliance ‘India’ on April 21.
RJD general secretary Kailash Yadav said after a meeting of the anti-BJP alliance here that Prasad’s son and former Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Tejashwi Yadav is also likely to attend the ‘Ulgulan (Revolution) mega rally to be held at Prabhat Tara Maidan in Ranchi. .
Leaders of the constituent parties of the ‘India Alliance’ – Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM), RJD and CPI (ML) – attended a meeting at the residence of former Chief Minister Hemant Soren today to discuss the strategy of this rally.
JMM general secretary Vinod Pandey said, “We are holding the Ulgulan rally to bring before everyone the injustice done to Hemant Soren and to protect democracy.” JMM working president Soren has been booked in a money laundering case related to the alleged land scam. He was arrested by the Enforcement Directorate on January 31.
‘Tejashwi Yadav will take part in the Maharally’
RJD general secretary Kailash Yadav, who attended the meeting at Soren’s residence, said, “Tejashwi Yadav will participate in the Maharally and if his health remains fine, RJD chief Lalu Prasad can also participate in it.”
Hemant Soren’s wife Kalpana Soren, Congress in-charge of Jharkhand affairs Ghulam Ahmed Mir, State Congress President Rajesh Thakur, senior RJD leader and minister Satyanand Bhokta, CPI (ML) MLA Vinod Singh and JMM general secretary Vinod Pandey were present in the meeting.
Mir told reporters that the components of the ‘India’ alliance discussed the strategy of the mega rally in the meeting. When he was asked about seat distribution among the constituent parties of ‘India’ in the state, he said that it will be done in a day or two.
